Since I always travel to an event 1 day before or on the day of the event itself, and leaving again on the last day of the event , I decided this time
I would take a few days extra in order to visit the city myself.

So here is my report of spending 3 days in Gdansk,Poland before going to the Silly Venture Winter Edition 2024

One of the main reasons I chose Michtron 3.0 BBS software was because of its multi-user capabilities
something that seemed not to be available back in those days.

However I quickly discovered after hooking up multiple WiModems to the multiple modem ports
on my MegaSTe to use Michtron BBS 3.0 as a multi-user BBS
one needs a hardware expansion connected to the cartridge port of your ST.

Called DC-Port.

Prodatron asked me if I was interested in joining him to ride-along to France
to go to the BENEDICTION-CODING-PARY

After a quick check on finding a gites (hostel) nearby and getting days off at work
the trip was planned.

Every year at Fujiama , Prodatron , the author of SYMBOS is present with his Amstrad CPC.

When I visited GEMTOS this year, I saw Gryzor running on an Amstrad CPC and was immediately impressed by the colours.
I was a huge arcade Contra addict in my younger years so I had to checkout the Amstrad CPC.

And so it began , I acquired a “broken” 464 end of May.
It was actually working except for the typical replacing of belts on the tape drive.

After a busy month of August finally the blog post to the newest family member in my retro-collection.

Finally Fujiama was due to happen.

This year the event would start on Tuesday the 23rd of July at midnight until Sunday the 28th of July.

Finally ShadowParty was due to happen.

This would be my second demoscene/retro-event in France after visiting GEMTOS in May and being invited to ShadowParty by p0ke.

As usual prepping meant trying to stuff as much retro things into a backpack, since I travel by bus and trains.

The 520ST didn’t make the cut but the 800XE did and a mini-ST instead. And to make it easier for people to get my details, an QR code was made linking to this blogsite.

I tend to like old computers with tapedrives and so I stumbled upon the Amstrad CPC and discovered its demoscene.

Which led me to discovering these 2 websites.

I really enjoyed it and like the short format of it,in 20 to 30 minutes there is nice presentation of all demoscene related events and releases.

Every since seeing SymbOS at Fujiama running on Prodatron’s CPC I have been intrigued by this 8 bit computer which I have never known.

The Amstrad CPC.

When visiting GEMTOS 2024 in France the first weekend of May, I was kindly invited by p0ke to the Shadow Party on the 29th-30th of June also in France.

Since I take my 520ST with me to Atari meetings, I really missed having a floppy drive with me. The 520ST does not have an internal floppy but the positive of this is that the 520ST dimensions are easier to fit into a backpack.

When I planned my vacations this January, I noticed two consecutive bank holidays in May.
And two events were happening in May , GEMTOS in France and Outline in The Netherlands.
